Buying a foreclosure can be a great deal (if you can find one nowadays). But a foreclosure comes with a great deal of risk involved as well. Buying a foreclosure usually means dealing directly with the banks – and this can make for some sticky negotiations. The bank is usually in a financial hole with the home anyway, and then they have to spend money and time following certain regulations.
